The lineup features a local flavor and variety, ranging from bluegrass to metal, classics to contemporary.

“This is a strong lineup of talent”, said Greg Vojtanek, Revolution Director of Marketing and Promotions. “We’ve got bands with big followings because they’re great musicians and great performers. Add that to a stadium full of people, prize money, and the event becomes one big hit.”

Last season’s winner was the Mark DeRose Band from York. As Battle of the Bands champions, the Mark DeRose Band opened for the Blues Traveler Concert at Sovereign Bank Stadium last summer.

This year’s winner will receive a $2,500 cash prize in addition to being the one and only featured performer at Sovereign Bank Stadium during the Rev, White & Blues game on Monday, July 6. That night will also feature Postgame Fireworks, during which the winning band will also perform.

Members of the homegrown York band “Soveren” are excited to hit the big stage on June 26.

“Win or lose, we’re hoping to make Soveren fans out of the crowd,” said singer D. Bray. “We’re stoked to play, ready to rock, and we’re gonna make it reign… Soveren style!!!”

Each band will perform between innings, and the crowd will then vote on which band they liked best. Each band is encouraged to promote themselves and the event.

There are also prizes for the second and third place winners. Second place winners receive a $250 cash prize, as well as a $500 credit from Production Express, a production company based in York. Third place winners will receive use of a skybox at Sovereign Bank Stadium during a Revolution game this season.

First pitch for the game on June 26 is set for 7 p.m.
