Bands To Compete For Coveted Spot During May 24 Game
The competing bands are: The Sleeping World (Mid 1) Chris Scheler (End 1) The Dropzines (Mid 2) Mark DeRose (End 2) Stone Blue (Mid 3) Safe Jacket (End 3) Bruised and Banned (Mid 4) JC Fisher Band (End 4) Sweet Sister Misery (Mid 5) Kasper (End 5) Colonel Mustard (Mid 6) Little Ivory Blues Band (End 6) Each band will have the opportunity to play a 90-second clip in-between innings for the chance to open for Blues Traveler, during the Revolution’s game against the Camden Riversharks that evening, beginning at 7:07 p.m. The winner will also receive a free suite for up to 25 people during the concert, $500 in prize money, a special meet and greet session with Blues Traveler and four dugout box seats for the remainder of the Revolution’s 2008 home schedule at Sovereign Bank Stadium. Second and third place bands will each receive 25 tickets to the concert, with second place taking home $250 in prize money. All band members that compete in the Blues Traveler Battle of the Bands contest will receive a ticket to the concert on June 14. Bands will set up on the third base side of the ballpark, and will have a full-inning to set up and break down. 12 bands total will be selected to compete, with a different band performing between each half-inning through the sixth inning of play. All fans in attendance will receive a form to vote for the band they think is most worthy of opening for Blues Traveler, to be collected by the Revolution staff. Once the votes are tabulated, the winner will be announced before the end of game. REV IT UP! |
