Owner and Location:
The York Outdoor Recreation Complex featuring the new ballpark is owned by the York County Industrial Development Authority, which has entered into a 20-year lease with York Professional Baseball, LLC, owned by Opening Day Partners. The beautiful new complex is located in downtown York on the corner of George Street and Arch Street, on Brooks Robinson Way (NOTE: For GPS/Internet Mapping purposes, fans may want to use 50 Washington Street for directions).
The ballpark offers a full range of family friendly features and attractions, including a large catered picnic area overlooking the field and a fantastic amusement area for kids of all ages. The ballpark also serves as a multipurpose facility by accommodating other sporting events as well as concerts, meetings, conferences, holiday parties, etc.
Food:
Our concessions and catering offers a mouth watering variety of snacks and beverages, including many local favorites. You'll find everything from traditional ballpark treats to gourmet cuisine. WATER POLICY: Factory sealed plastic water bottles no larger than 12 oz. and kids’ juice boxes are permitted into the ballpark. Only one bottle of water per person will be permitted. All other glass, metal or plastic containers of any kind may not be brought into the stadium.
Seating:
Old-fashioned bleacher seats are a thing of the past. Our new ballpark features 5,200 reserved seats, with comfortable armrests and seat backs. You can also bring a blanket and watch the action from the grass berms in the outfield. All seats are very close to the action.
Autographs:
We encourage our fans to ask players and coaches for autographs; however, there are some guidelines. Players are not allowed to sign autographs once the umpires have taken the field. We also ask that you be courteous of your fellow fans when seeking autographs.
Cameras:
Regular still cameras and video cameras are permitted inside Sovereign Bank Stadium.
Foul Balls:
Fans are reminded to stay alert at all times, as bats and balls may enter the stands. You are welcome to keep any ball thrown or hit into the stands, but you may not, under any circumstances, interfere with a ball that is in play by leaning over the box seat railing or outfield wall. Violators will be subject to ejection from the park.
Gates Open:
Sovereign Bank Stadium gates will open one (1) hour before the scheduled game time, unless otherwise noted. Please check our website for any changes in game time or gates opening. Quite often there will be additional entertainment in the Brooks Robinson Plaza prior to gates opening, so arrive early!
Lawn chairs and blankets may be brought into the ballpark to enhance your enjoyment of the game. Lawn seating is available in right field.
